My custom Norfolk and Western "Bicentennial" Trains
This is a custom Bicentennial set I build around the N&W bicentennial trailers. I like the original prototype of this 40' trailer or "van" so much that I just had to have some running around on my layout.

The engines are both GP9 High Nose from AHM. There are six Mantua flatcars each with a custom painted N&W bicentennial 40' trailers. Then of course there has to be a matching caboose for a set like this.
I had some older GP9's GP9's painted in the N&W "American Bicentennial" scheme and the matching Bachmann caboose. Then I started collecting the old Mantua flatcars with the metal bottoms and 40' trailers that I could have custom painted to match the engines and caboose.
Once I got started I decided that I would have to have a few other cars as well. I found a few more older Mantua cars to have painted in the same N&W bicentennial scheme to add some excitement to the set. There is a boxcar, tankcar, and a gondola.
I once again turned to Wayne Dieffenbacker of Liberty Maine so he could work his magic on these all of these trains and the 40' trailers.
Wayne has many expertly assembled and (airbrush) weathered items available on eBay I highly recommend him for your custom model work. He would be happy to give you a quote for your own custom work.
