This prototype from 1974 was not sold to public that I know of.

This locomotive had a blue stripe across the nose and around the front cab. The number pads on both the front and back had "5628" in dark letters on a white background which were used on many of the Tyco engines during the 60's and early 70's.

The cab had a red roof, while the rest of the body had the red and white stripes which went from the base all the way across the roof.

The most striking feature was the Presidential Seal.

Both this early prototype and the first production version of the engine had this rare Presidential Seal on the sides. Tyco received a letter from then President Nixon's staff that they were NOT authorized to use the Presidential seal and Tyco had to recall these engines from the stores.

Very few of these engines have survived with the original Presidential seals intact, they were very delicate and flaked off easily.
